POLYPRENOLS IN ONCOLOGY
Experimental study
The study was conducted in laboratory conditions on mice, in which Ehrlich adenocarcinoma and Lewis lung carcinoma were experimentally simulated.
The mice were introduced polyprenols and the cytostatic of cyclophosphane in the course of the study. As a result, it was discovered that polyprenols
significantly reduce the toxic effect of the cytostatic, without changing its anti-tumor activity. In addition, polyprenols have a small
independent anti-tumor activity. The main conclusion is that polyprenols can be applied in clinical oncology as a means increasing life time
and improving its quality.
ANTITUMOR EFFECT OF CELL FIR JUICE
Pre-clinical (experimental) studies of anti-tumor properties of cell juice of Siberian firs were carried out in the Research Institute of Oncology (Tomsk) on the experimental models of tumor growth (Lewis lung carcinoma, B-16 melanoma) in mice. The fir extract had an anti-tumor activity, which manifested itself in reliable inhibition of the volume to 44% and mass of the tumor to 41%, reduction of the number of metastases and the total area of metastasis to 70%.
